WHAT WE DO
Joshua Smith Architect has been in the architecture profession for over 20 years. Each project that comes into the firm is looked at as an individual project, with individual solutions.
Each project starts with conceptual design, and review with the local city planning staff to determine that the project can be completed with the desired intent. After conceptual design and planning review, the project moves into design development, and incorporates other building trades such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural trades. Client reviews the design after design development to ensure that it is still meeting the desired intent. After design development, the project moves into construction documents, and documents are produced in order to achieve a building permit from the local jurisdiction.
Once the project is permitted, and a contractor has been selected, Joshua Smith Architect begins with construction administration. Monthly site visits and field reports keep the client informed on the status of construction and assists the contractor with the interpretation of the design intent of the construction documents.
OUR PASSION
An award-winning architectural practice covering architecture, planning and interior design in all major sectors, we breath life into buildings through beautiful form and function.
OUR UNIQUE PROCESS
Although we tend to price projects on a case by case basis, this is a guide to the services and project packages we offer to our clients.
Construction Documents and BIM
We believe in using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. This allows us to draw and build the building in a virtual 3-Dimensional world. We are able to coordinate and see clashes with sub-trades during documentation, making construction easier and with less conflict.
